Craft dried chickpeas (kabuli chana) are a wonderfully versatile ingredient – make your own houmous, or add to veggie curries and stews.
Chickpeas are delicious lightly grilled and drizzled with olive oil and salt, or scattered across a salad for extra bite. Make a veggie chickpea burger, or roughly chop and add them to falafel mix for a more varied texture.
Soak beans in water for 12hrs or overnight. Rinse thoroughly and drain. Cover with fresh water and boil rapidly for 15 mins, removing any foam with a spoon. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 50 mins or until tender.
